wiki syntax
explains the concept and how to use it
eg. typing __bold text__ creates bold text
It enables you to add formatting to your pages without having to learn or use HTML. End users can use wiki syntax to improve the formatting (appearance) of the text and to create links to other internal and external content.
Using the quicklinks
Eventually many users memorize the wiki syntax they use, but you don't have to. The "quicklink" buttons above the edit window will apply the chosen formatting to any selected text. Hold your mouse over each of the buttons for the literal description of what each does. You can use WikiSyntax in articles, blogs, comments, forums, HTML pages, and — of course — Wiki pages.
Using wiki syntax you can:
- format text: bold, italic, underlining, colored text, and monospace text
- bulleted, numbered, and definition lists
- create tables
- format paragraphs headings, boxes, rules, centered text, and page breaks
- create links: links to bitweaver content and Web pages
- include images: that have been previously loaded to a fisheye file gallery
Use Plugins for additional formatting.
User Plugins are more complicated formatting and content tools that advanced users can spice up their pages with. See plugins for more detail.List of Wiki Syntax
The following is the same information you see when you click Wiki Quick Help while you're editing a Wiki page.Emphasis: '' (double apostrophe) for italics'', __ (double underscore) for bold, ''__ for both__''
italics bold "both"
Lists: * for bullet lists, # for numbered lists, ;term:definition for definition lists

Wiki Links: use CamelCase or use ((page)) or ((pagename|displayed text)) for wiki references ))SomeName(( prevents links
External links: use square brackets for an external link: [URL] or [URL|displayed text] or [URL|description|nocache] (that last form prevents the local Wiki from caching the page; please use that form for large pages!).
External Wiki: For a predefined external site, you can link to external page using ((acronym:pagename)) instead of a URL. If W is set to be the shortcut for Wikipedia, then ((W:wiki syntax)) links to that page in wikipedia.
Multi-page pages: use
